Implemented our award winning School Resource Officer (SRO) Program to increase crime prevention and make schools safer.
Reduced crime city-wide by emphasizing community-oriented policing.
Doubled graffiti abatement, removing 80% of all graffiti within 24 hours to reduce the presence of gang signs.
Created a passport processing center at City Hall for the convenience of citizens.
Created a program to establish a Police Chief for the school district.
Contracted civilianization of jail operations in the processing and transportation of arrestees, freeing 2537 hours of officer time to be redeployed to patrol duties, resulting in a doubling of arrests and a decrease in response times.
Established a Citywide paramedic program to serve the entire community.
Deployment of high-speed wireless communication to police vehicles, which significantly improves efficiency and officer safety.
Implemented Area Commander Program to increase effectiveness by focusing on problem solving and community involvement.
Built Fire Stations at Citrus and Baseline; and Duncan Canyon and Interstate 15.
Authorized the purchase and rehabilitation of the apartments in high-crime areas to reduce crime and improve aesthetics.
Re-established the police department’s Field Evidence Technician Unit to speed up investigations and allow offers to spend more time fighting crime, rather than processing crime scenes.
Created a Fontana Senior Safety Network; a community oriented policing program designed to share information, build allied support for elder abuse prevention and create a resource referral system for seniors in need.
Implementation of the Police Cadet Program designed to assist in the Department’s effort to improve its role in obtaining a diverse work force. This program is designed to attract young adults who are well-qualified to participate in an organized, on the job training program to ultimately move into a career in law enforcement.
